Peter K. Bruck—Bio

Peter Bruck is the Building Official for the City of Rohnert Park in California.  Peter has over 30 years experience in the construction field including 18 years as an “environmentally friendly” general contractor and another 14 years as a building code professional.  He is a LEED® Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council and has his M.A. in Sustainable and Energy Efficient Communities from Sonoma State University.  Peter was responsible for the development of the Green Building Ordinance that became effective in Rohnert Park on July 1, 2007, and documented the development and implementation process in his Master’s paper.  He sits on the California Building Standards Commission “Green Building Code Advisory Committee,” which has provided considerable input towards the development of the California Green Building Code, and is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council’s “Code Committee.”  Recent speaking and teaching venues include West Coast Green in San Francisco, Building Professional Institute in Dallas, Texas, Arizona Building Officials Ed Institute, and the California Building Officials Education Weeks.  Peter teaches green building classes for the International Code Council.
